I almost just can't wait.

I'm going to the sewing show tomorrow. It's one of my favorite events of the year. My sister and I are going and that is why it is so fun, well besides all the great fabric etc. The boys are going to Camp Diane for the day so they will be thrilled. She does have a way of spoiling them rotten. I'm not looking for anything in particular this time, however that makes all my future purchases that much more fun. I am going to look at more of the clothing booths this year. In years past we have spent the majority of our time looking at quilting things. I am looking for ideas that would work for the boys this time. I like looking for trends in our world that can translate into something for them.

I've been working on summer shirts for the little boys. You can see the black so much better on Petey. I also bought some material today for their portraits. Now I have to dig around in the attic to find something I can use for the backgrounds. I'm sure I have something laying around that will work. We went to the pet store today to get some food for the little ones and the cat. They had a throw you could send away for. You pay for it at the pet store, put a picture in a box and drop it in the mail. Several weeks later they send you the throw with your picture worked into it. Now that has given me some ideas. They were selling for $125.00. Hmmm.

I hope you are all snuggled up with your four-legged ones. It's quite a sight to see when the three boys get up on the couch with me. Charlie takes up the most of it. He likes to sleep with his head in my lap. Of course that is all that would fit in my lap. The little boys then find a spot somewhere around. We're all settled in for the evening. I'll catch up with you all later.

Are you ready for some Baseball!

We missed opening day, but I think we are ready now. Boo is all decked out in his baseball finest. I wonder if I can find a little cap for him. Actually I'm going to put this shirt up on my Etsy site. The fabric comes in blue and black as well. I might just have to go get more. He was so thrilled with his shirt, he rolled around on the couch for a good 5 minutes. Petey was looking on like Boo was going crazy. I'll have to make one Petey size as well.

I've been thinking about doing a fabric portrait of the boys. I took a couple of their pictures and enlarged them to see how it would look. I need to go looking for fabric. That's always a hard thing to do! I have some black, I need the white and tan for Petey and Charlie. I might need more black as well. We'll have to see how what I have plays together. There needs to be a certain level of contrast on Boo to show his face correctly. This project is going to take more thought!

and so we blog...

Hey all!

Here we go, a new blog. I've been working on designing clothing for my 2 little dogs, Petey and BooBoo. I know this may seem a little crazy to some. It's not a long story. Up until about 2 years ago, I had always had large dogs, a Bernese Mountain Dog, then Charlie, my Great Pyrenees. They were great dogs! We would walk, go for a romp in the park, play tug-of -war, all of those good dog games. They never had coats and were not allowed on the couch. I have to admit they were occasionally allowed on the bed. Charlie would get up for about 15 minutes, get too warm and get down. Just a quick snuggle.
Two years ago we rescued BooBoo and Petey. Their previous owners could not keep them any longer and they were not far from heading to the pound. I couldn't let that happen. Well....They had fairly short coats when I brought them home and it was December. I'm sure you can see where this is going. They were shivering as they went out to do what dogs have to do, and so they soon had coats. They were very happy about that.

The next step involved a trip to Cleveland and then Chicago. I was visiting with a dear friend in Cleveland. She suggested I get a bag for BooBoo (he's only 10 pounds) and bring him to Chicago. She promised he would love the bag and be happy to ride around in it all day. So...I bought BooBoo a bag. Petey went to stay next door at Camp Diane. Camp Diane is run by my neighbor, Diane Next Door. Petey LOVES her! BooBoo came to Chicago with me. He truly loved his bag. We even went into restaurants. He stayed in the bag, never begged off the table. He was great.

So now, they have coats, sweaters and various other fun things to wear. I have been sewing for 35+ years so I now make these outfits for them. We (that would mean the boys and I) thought it would be fun to design and sell our creations. You can purchase my designs at http://www.booboosbag.etsy.com/. They are ever so patient with the fittings. I'll keep you up to date on what I am working on, what is inspiring me and what the boys are up to. They can be so silly sometimes. So go snuggle up with your little ones and I'll catch up with you soon.
